A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Friends,

I just can’t tell you how much fun I had in November! It kicked with the “In Their Shoes Walk” where our Team AACA raised over $10,000! WAY TO GO!! It was probably one of the most glorious days we had this fall! We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather! I really enjoyed walking, talking, seeing all the beautiful colors of changing leaves, passing by all cheering stations and walking a LOT more! The whole experience from sending out my letters asking for donations to actually crossing over the finish line was amazing. It’s something I hope to do for many years.

The 17th was a very busy day. It started with a trip to WGAU radio station for an appearance on the Liz Dalton show with Natalie Glenn, Mona Taylor (ARMC) and Karen Joyce (St. Mary’s). We talked about our note cards, the Auxiliary, the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support and St. Mary’s Hospice House. It was a great show and by the time we were finished I was almost not nervous anymore! Next was another fun Auxiliary Night at Allen’s where they raffled off 2 first class airline tickets! I totally thought I should have one (since it was my birthday!), but instead we went home with a red Budweiser blow-up sofa. Hmmmmm….not quite the same as a trip, but fun was had by all nonetheless!

Tinsel & Toddy was the best! Thank you so very much to Camilla Bracewell our sustainer advisor for organization this fun party and to Janet Kloepher for opening up her beautiful home. Also, a special thanks to all the sustainers who provided the goodies. It was a fabulous party! We launched our note cards that night and were so honored to have Annie Laurie Dodd and three of our founding members, Jeanette Rowe, Ann Scoggins and Claire Swann there to help us celebrate. Please check out the pictures on our website.

Now it’s December! We’ve already decorated the tree at St. Mary’s Hospice House and on the 18th we’ll be serving dinner at the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support to Camp Sunshine. Busy, busy, busy! Please read on about the many other exciting happenings in the Auxiliary. I hope you and your families have a wonderful Holiday Season! I look forward to seeing many of you on the 18th and the rest of you in January.

Happy Holidays!
Kathryn Rodrigue, President

HOLIDAY SERVICE

We will be providing dinner 12/18 for the families of Camp Sunshine at the Loran Smith Center. We will also be giving the toys that everyone generously donated at Tinsel and Toddy at that time. Special thanks to all who have signed up to help with this service opportunity and Kelly Jones of Weekday Gourmet who donated the meal.

FALL EVENT FINDINGS

The Fall Event was a big success for the Auxiliary! We were able to raise over $18,500 from the event and silent auction. Thank you all for supporting the event and the Auxiliary! The Common People Band did a great job and we had a great turnout despite the rain. Thank you to everyone for bringing their tailgate tents.
