AACA Newsletter February 2009

From the President

Dear Friends,

We are hitting the ground running in February! Thursday, the 5th is our second New Member Meeting at Sarah Schmitt’s home. It is sure to be a success! We will be stuffing bags with travel size items and delivering them to the Road to Recovery patients we are driving these next few months. I love that we started this “service project” last year. It is such a great way for potential members to jump right into volunteering. “AACA Day at the Movies” at Cine’ is next on the calendar on Sunday, the 8th. If you don’t already have your tickets you need to get them NOW before they’re all gone!

I cannot believe it is February and we are already busy planning for next year! Thanks to you all who sent in surveys and willingness to serve forms. Alison and I are busy getting things in order for next year and it will indeed be one of our best years yet! If you would still like to fill out a survey about the Fall Event or have any suggestions about anything else AACA related please feel free to contact me at kathrynrodrigue@yahoo.com ASAP! We will be meeting on Monday about next year’s Fall Event and would love to have EVERYONE’S input!

And while we’re on the subject of next year (and this goes for the rest of this year too!)….please remember that you only get out as much as you put into the Auxiliary. If you are interested in getting more involved let us know! If you have the time and energy we would love your help!

See You This Sunday At The Movies

February 8 Showing of Pride & Prejudice at Cine in Downtown Athens! Tickets are $20 each and include movie snacks. Seating is limited so stop by Cine’s box office or go online to purchase tickets today. All remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Hope to see you there!

Serving Up A Cure Tennis Tournament

If you know of anyone that plays tennis please let Amy Chisholm or Virna Mendoza know their name and address so we can mail them a Save the Date postcard for the tournament. We want to fill the tournament on both days-April 24th and 25th.
